For kids in Minnesota and Wisconsin

Fun, Friendship and Adventure. That's what summer camp is all about. And that's what children with insulin-dependent diabetes find at Camp Needlepoint and Camp Daypoint.

Designed by the American Diabetes Association, Minnesota Area, Camp Needlepoint and Camp Daypoint give young people with diabetes a chance to:

  • Challenge their abilities through everything from swimming and sailing to hiking and horseback riding
  • Make unforgettable memories in the outdoors
  • Meet friends who share the need for insulin
Meanwhile, parents enjoy peace of mind knowing that
  • Physicians and nurses with a special interest in diabetes provide round-the-clock medical supervision
  • Counselors with diabetes understand the children's needs and are strong role models
  • Diet, exercise, blood glucose monitoring and injections are integrated into the camp program
Camp Needlepoint and Camp Daypoint have exclusive use of YMCA Camp St. Croix, south of Hudson, Wisconsin, on a wooded bluff along the St. Croix River. Facilities include a health center, dining hall, crafts room, nature building, meeting lodge, tennis and basketball courts, soccer and softball field, archery range, rope course and horseback riding area. The beach is equipped for volleyball, canoeing, sailing, kayaking and swimming.
