Purpose:
The Arc of Southwestern Wisconsin is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization.
The Arc of Southwestern Wisconsin:
- Provides an opportunity of parents who have sons or daughters with disabilities to share experiences and coordinator efforts to enhance the lives of both the parents and their son and daughters.
- Fosters of the development of programs on behalf of persons with disabilities.
- Develops a better understanding by the public of the problems encountered by persons with disabilities.
- Cooperates with public, private and religious agencies and professional groups with mutual interests.
- Serves as a local clearinghouse for gathering and distributing information regarding disabilities.
Activities
Recent activities include:
- Host an annual banquet to honor individuals, businesses and educators who have improved the lives of people with disabilities.
- Provided holiday gifts to selected families which include a child with special health care needs
- Assisted with participation costs of local Special Olympians
- Sponsored an information meeting on accessible housing options.
Membership:
Membership is open to all people who care about individuals with disabilities regardless of age; degree or type of disability; whether or not they attend private of public school; take part in residential or day services or work in the community; whether or not they reside at home or in an institution.
Geographic Area:
The Arc of Southwestern Wisconsin, Inc. includes Iowa, Grant and Lafayette Counties.
Dues:
Annual dues are $10.00 per single and $15.00 per family.
